The real deal of being a mom: Motherhood is no joke – it’s a wild ride full of love, messes, and growth. What To Expect For Your Family Newborn Photoshoot

WHAT TO EXPECT FOR YOUR FAMILY NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT

What to expect for your newborn photoshoot with your new family at Tiffany’s Photography?

You just had a baby and you are ready to capture these precious memories with your new family. What’s next?

The best time to capture newborn babies is between 5-10 days old to have those relaxed and sleep images. Older babies can still have newborn shots up to 3 months old. However, older babies are more aware, they are not as sleepy but you will have beautiful capture of your baby and the connection you have with your new family. It really depends on when you are ready to come to the studio, once baby is born.

The photoshoot is held at my Endeavour Hills (3802) studio. The date of your shoot is booked from your due date or C-section date, with an understanding that we can move the date if your baby arrives earlier or later.

During the consultations, you will have lots of info on what to wear for your session, what to bring and when you will have your images.

My newborn sessions are very relax and fun. You will have lots of prompts and guidance with posing. I love capturing the authentic emotion, love and connection between you and your family.

Newborn Portraits For A New Family

NEWBORN PORTRAITS FOR A NEW FAMILY

Newborn portraits for a new family welcoming their first son.

Expecting a child is a wonderful moment to experience. However Covid and ISO have made this experience to the next level!

P & D’s experience from being pregnant with Baby D to giving birth to him was very different due to Covid 19. P had to go through appointments on her own. D couldn’t be with her most of the time as he wasn’t allowed in the room. No Pre antenatal classes, no mid wives appointments, no ultrasound appointments. Giving brith was also another story, visits to hospital was every limited. It is an experience they will never forget. And a story to tell their first born son D.

Newborn portrait sessions are best done best captured between 5-10 days old. Babies are more relax, sleepy and easier to resettle. Older babies are more alert and awake, not as flexible for certain poses. Either way, it always depends on when mum and dad are ready to come in for their photography session. But also when baby is ready. Baby D was a bit jaundice so we waited a bit before doing his session. However he was a champion sleeping most of the time, after having a big big feed.

This was my last newborn session before lockdown 2.0 was put into place. It was such a crazy time to get our head around however I’m glad we manage to get these precious newborn capture for this new family during this crazy Covid time.

Family Portraits With A New Baby Girl

FAMILY PORTRAITS WITH A NEW BABY GIRL

Family portraits with a new baby girl. These new parents had their maternity session done in the studio few weeks earlier.

You can find their maternity session here. And now they are back with their precious Baby I.

Baby I was born just a little while after the Covid restrictions were lifted. And it was great timing to do her newborn session.

As soon as I met this precious girl, I knew she would suit this flora baby muslin wrap.

She slept through her newborn session, making her portrait session stress free and a lot of fun to capture. Her family will have precious images to cherish Baby I so little. Just priceless.

Newborn portraits are done in my studio based in Endeavour Hills (3802), in the morning with a beautiful natural light. And are generally about 2-3 hours.

M is wearing couple dresses from my dress collection I have available for my mums.

I really enjoyed capturing M & A’s journey, from their maternity session to their newborn portrait with their new family of three.

Twins Newborn Photography With Double The Love

TWINS NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY WITH DOUBLE THE LOVE

Twins newborn photography with double the love for this family of five.

I photographed A & D’s maternity with her twins a bit before Christmas. You can find their pregnancy shoot here.

Having the twins is something very wonderful. Australian Multiple Birth Association is a great support for family expecting multiple babies.

During your newborn portrait session, siblings are welcome and are a MUST. I also photograph your family and have different combination images between all the members; siblings together, baby by him/herself, mummy with her babies, daddy with her babies and more.

When these guys arrived in the studio, the twins needed a feed. While getting feeding, I photographed big sister M, she was pretty excited. Once I captured the big siblings with their newborn baby(ies), daddy can take them to the playground I have around the corner from my house. During that time, the twins were photographed by themselves and with mummy. When D came back with big sister M, we took more family photos. I just couldn’t believe how the twins slept through during their newborn session.

These guys will have beautiful newborn and family images for them from 3 to 5.

BABY PHOTOSHOOT IN MELBOURNE STUDIO

Baby photoshoot in Melbourne studio with a sweet baby girl.

These guys are back after getting their maternity session done on the beach, few weeks earlier. You can find their pregnancy session here.

They came back on the studio with their Baby girl M. She was such a divine, just born baby. And her session was just smoothless, wrapping it under 2 hours.

My baby portrait sessions are relax and fun. I not only capture your baby as newborn but also your new family. With different combinations images; just baby, baby with mummy, baby with daddy, and family images all together. I do all these combinations images in different set ups. However I will let you know who goes in or out of the shoot 🙂

Newborn Moments In Studio

NEWBORN MOMENTS IN STUDIO

Newborn moments in studio with this army family.

These guys came in the studio to photograph their Baby R as a newborn. She was a divine little thing.

N had a cesarean so her portrait session was booked from the date she had her c-section, with the flexibility that the date can be changed. Then I usually tell my mummies to let me know when they are ready to come in the studio.

The best time to do your newborn portraits are when babies are between 5 to 10 days old, for these sleepy and curly poses in your images. And after that, babies are generally more awake and not as flexible to pose. I don’t rush my mummies. It is really up to the parents on how they feel once they have their babies. I always tell my clients to let me know when they are settled back in their hospital room or back home.

From Digitals Images To Prints

FROM DIGITAL IMAGES TO PRINTS

From digital images to prints, what to expect?

In this day and age, having digital images is very important for most people to have when taking their pictures.

I know it was for me especially when I got married and when I get family photos done from professional photographers. And I still am.

However, what to do with your digital images once you get them on a USB? Print them of course however how does it all work?

Printing photos to a specific size is not always what you think. There is this thing call aspect ratio and here is how it affects your images.

What is aspect ratio? It is simply the measurement of a photograph, width:height. It also helps with the composition of your image.

There are 2 common ratios; one for full frame DSR and one for crop sensor camera. But in this post, I will focus on the full frame DSLR’s as this is the gear I use to take photos.

The aspect ratio to full frame digital DSLR is 3:2. This means that the width is 1.5 times longer than the height.

3:2 is the ratio of landscape prints

and 2:3 is the ratio for portrait prints.

This aspect ratio will produce prints at 6×4, 7×5.5, 9×6, 12×8, 15×10, 18×12, 30×20, 45×30.

These sizes will fit the image as you see as digital images to print.

Prints like 7×5 has a different ratio; 7:5 which means the width is 1.4 times as long as the height. So that size print will have a different perspective and will have a crop.

While other classic size such as 10×8 has a different ratio again; 5:4. So when you print this size, you will most of the time be cropping two inches off your photo as the DSLR’s ratio is 3:2.

See below how print size will affect the digital image.

When printing your photos, some labs have an ordering system that has a preview for you to position your image for the crop you desire.

Here is a chart that will help with your prints.

6×4 and 7 x5 are standard size prints. However, my preference to give gift prints to my clients is the 7×5’s even if there is a different ratio to the camera’s at 3:2.

I will crop all gift prints to my artistic standard as there will be some information missing.

But the main focus will be in the prints.

If 7×5 doesn’t suit? I will be happy to delivery 6×4 prints if you prefer not to have the crop. It is not a downgrade if you are not willing to loose the information from the crop.
