Baby Poses For Newborn Photos

Baby poses for newborn photos are about capturing these precious moment of your just born baby.

When is it the best time to have your newborn photoshoot for these baby poses?

My favourite age is from 9 days old. Babies are still fresh, sleepy and more flexible to have those curly baby poses for your newborn photos.

However for the parents, the first week is a rollercoaster trying to settle at home- Your breastmilk is coming in if you are breast-feeding and you will have home nurse visits during that first week as well.

I always suggest parents to wait until they have settled home and to get in touch to organise their session once ready. I have the flexibility to the photoshoot within that week of getting in touch.

Some parents might want to wait a little longer than 9 days before getting out of their house. It sure took me a while before I left my house for the first time therefore I totally understand.

After 2 weeks old, babies are more alert, less sleepy and not as flexible for those curly baby poses. However it is still a sweet age to photograph them still so little.

Where are the newborn photos done?

Newborn sessions are done in my studio in Endeavour Hills. They are in the morning as babies and parents are a lot fresher in the morning.

I also offer in-home session if you prefer the baby poses to happen in the comfort of your own home- especially after having a cesarean section.

It is totally up to parents and how they feel when organising their newborn portrait session.

Who can participate during the newborn shoot?

My baby poses for your newborn photos are all about capturing the genuine emotion and authentic connection between the family members. I have a variety of images during the session between mum, dad, Bub and all the siblings. There is an extra fee for additional extended families like grand parents.

What baby poses will you have for your newborn photos?

There will be a variety of posing during your baby photoshoot without disrupting baby too much. These posing are done in variety of combination between all the family members participating during the shoot.

Images with family posing all together. It is mainly about capturing the authentic connection and emotions between all the members of the family with Baby.

Siblings shots. These are done at the start of the session. Especially if you have little toddlers during the shoot.

Mum with Bub and the kids. These are precious capturing of mum with Baby, mum with Baby and all the children of the family. These can also include breastfeeding shots if wanted.

Dad with Bub and the kids. We can’t forget Dad with Bub and all the children as well.

Baby by him/herself. These baby poses are done when Baby is asleep. Lots of cuddles are often required and these baby cuddles are the best part of the session 😉

Details/close up shot of baby- Remembering his/her little toes, little fingers, the hair the nose and parents hands holding baby’s hands. These are little details you will cherish in remembering how little they were.

Prompts and guidance will be given during your photoshoot to achieve these baby poses for your newborn photos. Sessions generally go for 2-3 hours all depending on Baby, feeding, nappy changes, cuddles, siblings wanting to have a break.

In Studio Pregnancy Photoshoot

Studio pregnancy photoshoot with beautiful women in my Endeavour Hills studio capturing their belly bumps.

Maternity photos are best done from 32 weeks onwards. It is a beautiful time when you are feeling that pregnancy glow without being too tired.

Something about photographing your pregnancy in studio that makes it intimate. It is a safe space to show as much skin as my clients wants or just capturing the love of their pregnancy.

Showing your pregnant belly in your images

Clients can have beautiful pregnancy shots in the studio showing their naked belly bumps comfortably.

The belly can be photographed by wearing a beautiful lace kimono or an open wrap dress complimented with supportive fine lace lingerie.

Capturing your pregnancy with love

Studio pregnancy photoshoots can also be done with your family- Dad-to-be and all your children. The photoshoot is full of fun. It is done with love and intimacy between all the members of your family. Posing and guidance will also be given through out the photoshoot to achieve your precious shots. My studio is your safe space to capture these precious moments.

A woman’s body constantly change through out pregnancy. Being on the other side of the lens can be daunting, feeling vulnerable. That is why connection, intimacy and trust is very important. Locations For Your Photoshoot

There are various locations to go to for your photoshoot. Choosing your spot is important as it has to suit YOU, your personality, your family but also your home turn your images into artwork to show case around your house. This along with “what to wear” is also important to marry up for your beautiful images. You will receive guidance to choose what to wear depending on the location you choose for your photoshoot.

These spots can be crowded especially over summer weekends however weekdays aren’t so much which would be more preferable for your photography experience.

Please note some of these locations has a travel fee as they are outside the 40kms radius.

If you after greens, trees and daisies, The Dandenong Ranges is a beautiful area. Some locations are seasonal

Olinda– Daisies are available from Nov to about Jan.

Retreat in Olinda- Hiring fee applies

Kalista

Emerald– Autumn orange feels are more around June

Clematis

Warburton– Travel fee applies

There are also seaside locations for your photoshoot. I have spots that are around beaches that have red cliffs, high grasses and piers.

Blackrock

Seaford

The Mornington Peninsula is another favorite spots for so many. These locations for your photoshoot can be a bit of a drive however it will be worth the visit to these beaches with beautiful cliffs. These locations required a travel fee as they are outside of my 40kms radius.

Flinders

Cape Shanck

Sorrento

Blairgowrie

McCrae

I also have these locations for your photoshoot that are local around Casey area if you are not wanting to travel too far out of the shire.

Philip Island also has beautiful spots to explore to have your photoshoot there. Travel fee applies

For clients who are up north east/west and prefer to stay close, I have beautiful spots as well.

What Is A Sitter Session

WHAT IS A SITTER SESSION?

A sitter session is photographing your babies’ exciting milestone in their first year of life.

At about six to nine months old, babies are able to sit on their own. It is a fun session as you can see how much your baby has grown and see his/her cheeky personality.

The sitting session is done in my studio based in Endeavour Hills. We will do the session in the morning before the morning nap or lunch. Babies are happier in the morning than later in the day.

It will go for about 45 minutes, babies don’t always last any longer than that. We will have time for 2 outfit changes. Parents are welcome to bring any heirloom outfits, baby will wear it first as it may not work later in the session, in case baby has had enough.

It was such a pleasure to see how much Baby M has grown. She came in the studio for her newborn session. You can see her newborn photoshoot here. She was a bit shy to begin with but her personality shined through. She showed off her beautiful toothless smiles but also her eye stares. Next step will be walking 🙂

FAMILY PHOTOS OUTDOOR IN THE WOODS

Family photos outdoor in the woods of The Dandenong with this beautiful family.

It was a glorious Autumn evening spent with D and her family. Covid had delay this photoshoot for almost a year but we finally made it. And it was worth the wait.

I have had a lot of family sessions post Covid, post lockdown. Perhaps realising when was the last time your family was photographed. Or even never ever had a family photoshoot done before. Capturing these family moments and memories to remember how precious the children are because time flies so fast.

My family sessions are done closer to sunset for a beautiful evening glow in your images. I have a variety of locations my families can choose from around The Dandenongs area, The Mornington Area, The Bayside Area or even closer to home if wish too.

FAMILY WITH NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

Family with newborn photography in the studio with their precious baby boy.

I had the pleasure to have captured so many precious moments for this couple. From engagement to wedding, maternity and now the arrival of their precious boy. What a wonderful journey it has been!

There is something really special about photographing a new family with their just born baby. It it not just about the posing or the lighting. It is mainly about the authentic emotions and connection you have with your family during your photographic session. It is such a special moment to capture, especially in the first few days when you are so in love with your precious baby and still getting to know each other.

There are precious moment you and your family will cherish forever. To look back and remembering them so little. Having these little butterfly feelings in your belly is really priceless.

A SWEET NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT WITH A NEW FAMILY

A sweet newborn photoshoot with a new family.

B & S are making parenting effortless, especially for their first baby. Their newborn session was also effortless. Their precious Baby O was such a sweet boy. He wanted lots of cuddles and a good feed when he arrived in the studio. But was soon fast asleep for the duration of his newborn portrait photoshoot.

My newborn photoshoot are fun and very relaxed. I also love having a chat with my clients and getting to know them. I got to know this beautiful Irish family with a big family dynamic back home and in Australia. B is one of 5 children and S is one of 7 children. Family is everything and it is even more special when you start growing your own.

That is why I love doing this as my job; capturing these precious family memories for my clients. These sweet moments in pictures, to look back and feel the heartfelt time.
