Maternity shoots are done around Melbourne closer to sunset for a beautiful sun glow in your images.

When booking your pregnancy shoot, lots of details will be provided to prepare for your session.

Few things to decide: When to have your session, where to have your maternity photoshoot and what is everyone wearing for your images.

When to have your pregnancy photoshoot?

The best time to have your pregnancy shoot is from 32 weeks– the start of your third trimester. When your belly is showing nicely and you have that beautiful pregnancy glow. You still have anergy to move around as well.

Where around Melbourne can you have your portrait session?

It really depends on what type of scenery you are wanting in your images. Melbourne has many beautiful spots around. There a local spots but also location around the Mornington Peninsula or The Dandenongs. Various location can be found here. If there is no spots that speak to you, I’m happy to travel to another area for your maternity photoshoot around Melbourne.

What to wear for your maternity session around Melbourne?

For the what to wear, this will discussed during your consultation.

I have a dress collection for my mums that can be found here. The dresses are bump friendly that will generally suit my pregnant mums.

Outdoor family Photography Melbourne

Outdoor family photography around Melbourne South East for family photographs of you and your precious children.

Melbourne has beautiful outdoor locations. We are very lucky to have so many outdoor options for your family photos. I often get people getting me to choose their locations. However it is very much a personal choice with your personal preferences and I could never choose as I love all my locations. It also depends how far you are wanting to travel as well.

Outdoors family photography is done closer to sunset for that beautiful sun glow and the soft highlights. Sessions are done about 1.5 hours before sunset. That beautiful sun glows comes out around 7.30pm during daylight savings (during summer) or about 4pm over winter. Sometimes the sun isn’t always out during the session however a cloudy evening is just as nice with the dramatic clouds outside. It still brings out a beautiful contrast in your images. I always check the weather forecast about a week before the shoot. Melbourne is always unpredictable at the best of time.

For your outdoor family photography, I will guide you pre shoot to help you prep for your session- what to wear, what to expect etc. Also a lots of prompts and guidance for the posing will be provided to capture your family at your preferred outdoor location. You will have genuine authentic emotions in your family storytelling outdoors. It is all about having fun and stress free.

I have a collection of dress/gowns available to my mums which is handy if you don’t have the time to go shopping or are wanting to wear something flowy for the occasion.

Baby Poses For Newborn Photos

Baby poses for newborn photos are about capturing these precious moment of your just born baby.

When is it the best time to have your newborn photoshoot for these baby poses?

My favourite age is from 9 days old. Babies are still fresh, sleepy and more flexible to have those curly baby poses for your newborn photos.

However for the parents, the first week is a rollercoaster trying to settle at home- Your breastmilk is coming in if you are breast-feeding and you will have home nurse visits during that first week as well.

I always suggest parents to wait until they have settled home and to get in touch to organise their session once ready. I have the flexibility to the photoshoot within that week of getting in touch.

Some parents might want to wait a little longer than 9 days before getting out of their house. It sure took me a while before I left my house for the first time therefore I totally understand.

After 2 weeks old, babies are more alert, less sleepy and not as flexible for those curly baby poses. However it is still a sweet age to photograph them still so little.

Where are the newborn photos done?

Newborn sessions are done in my studio in Endeavour Hills. They are in the morning as babies and parents are a lot fresher in the morning.

I also offer in-home session if you prefer the baby poses to happen in the comfort of your own home- especially after having a cesarean section.

It is totally up to parents and how they feel when organising their newborn portrait session.

Who can participate during the newborn shoot?

My baby poses for your newborn photos are all about capturing the genuine emotion and authentic connection between the family members. I have a variety of images during the session between mum, dad, Bub and all the siblings. There is an extra fee for additional extended families like grand parents.

What baby poses will you have for your newborn photos?

There will be a variety of posing during your baby photoshoot without disrupting baby too much. These posing are done in variety of combination between all the family members participating during the shoot.

Images with family posing all together. It is mainly about capturing the authentic connection and emotions between all the members of the family with Baby.

Siblings shots. These are done at the start of the session. Especially if you have little toddlers during the shoot.

Mum with Bub and the kids. These are precious capturing of mum with Baby, mum with Baby and all the children of the family. These can also include breastfeeding shots if wanted.

Dad with Bub and the kids. We can’t forget Dad with Bub and all the children as well.

Baby by him/herself. These baby poses are done when Baby is asleep. Lots of cuddles are often required and these baby cuddles are the best part of the session 😉

Details/close up shot of baby- Remembering his/her little toes, little fingers, the hair the nose and parents hands holding baby’s hands. These are little details you will cherish in remembering how little they were.

Prompts and guidance will be given during your photoshoot to achieve these baby poses for your newborn photos. Sessions generally go for 2-3 hours all depending on Baby, feeding, nappy changes, cuddles, siblings wanting to have a break.

A lifestyle maternity photoshoot is a beautiful and relax style to capture your pregnancy. Photoshoots are stress free, relaxed and heaps of fun. Lots of prompts and guidance will be provided from the start to the end of your photoshoot experience. I strive for clients to have the best experience they deserve.

Why having lifestyle maternity photos?

Being on the other side of the lens can be very daunting, especially when you haven’t met the photographer. Maternity photos aren’t for everyone. Women are in a vulnerable place while the body is changing every week. However that pregnancy glow is a beautiful feeling to photograph in a lifestyle way- with genuine emotions in your images. It is a wonderful journey between you and your family. These moments are beautiful memories to capture, to look back remembering your journey to parenthood. You won’t regret it.

What to expect from the maternity session?

Clients often say that they are awkward in front of the camera or not knowing how to pose. Your maternity session will be very lifestyle, natural, authentic but also relaxed and fun. It is not all portrait posy looking straight to the camera (although grand-ma prefers when everyone is looking into the camera). These prompts are very natural. This lifestyle way to photograph your pregnancy is very much posing behind the unposed.

Where should we document maternity session?

Your pregnancy would be capture as an authentic story at an outdoor location to see your story unfold with precious details. For outdoor locations, I have a variety of spots between The Dandenongs, The Peninsula or few little local spots if you don’t want to travel too far. It really depends the type of scenery you are wanting in your images. This will be discuss further during your consultation to prep for your lifestyle maternity session.

Studio pregnancy photoshoot with beautiful women in my Endeavour Hills studio capturing their belly bumps.

Maternity photos are best done from 32 weeks onwards. It is a beautiful time when you are feeling that pregnancy glow without being too tired.

Something about photographing your pregnancy in studio that makes it intimate. It is a safe space to show as much skin as my clients wants or just capturing the love of their pregnancy.

Showing your pregnant belly in your images

Clients can have beautiful pregnancy shots in the studio showing their naked belly bumps comfortably.

The belly can be photographed by wearing a beautiful lace kimono or an open wrap dress complimented with supportive fine lace lingerie.

Capturing your pregnancy with love

Studio pregnancy photoshoots can also be done with your family- Dad-to-be and all your children. The photoshoot is full of fun. It is done with love and intimacy between all the members of your family. Posing and guidance will also be given through out the photoshoot to achieve your precious shots. My studio is your safe space to capture these precious moments.

FAMILY PHOTOS OUTDOOR IN THE WOODS

Family photos outdoor in the woods of The Dandenong with this beautiful family.

It was a glorious Autumn evening spent with D and her family. Covid had delay this photoshoot for almost a year but we finally made it. And it was worth the wait.

I have had a lot of family sessions post Covid, post lockdown. Perhaps realising when was the last time your family was photographed. Or even never ever had a family photoshoot done before. Capturing these family moments and memories to remember how precious the children are because time flies so fast.

My family sessions are done closer to sunset for a beautiful evening glow in your images. I have a variety of locations my families can choose from around The Dandenongs area, The Mornington Area, The Bayside Area or even closer to home if wish too.

A SWEET NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT WITH A NEW FAMILY

A sweet newborn photoshoot with a new family.

B & S are making parenting effortless, especially for their first baby. Their newborn session was also effortless. Their precious Baby O was such a sweet boy. He wanted lots of cuddles and a good feed when he arrived in the studio. But was soon fast asleep for the duration of his newborn portrait photoshoot.

My newborn photoshoot are fun and very relaxed. I also love having a chat with my clients and getting to know them. I got to know this beautiful Irish family with a big family dynamic back home and in Australia. B is one of 5 children and S is one of 7 children. Family is everything and it is even more special when you start growing your own.

That is why I love doing this as my job; capturing these precious family memories for my clients. These sweet moments in pictures, to look back and feel the heartfelt time.

NATURAL FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE DANDENONG RANGES

Natural family photography for these beautiful people in a beautiful location in The Dandenong Ranges.

I started photography as a portrait photographer. Soon to realise not long after that kids would not sit tight to smile straight to the camera. It was too stressful for the parents and also too much pressure on the children.

Natural photography, lifestyle photography was a game changer for me. It was the style of photography I wanted to pursue. Capturing natural, genuine emotion and connection with my families.

Hubbies/partners/dads don’t feel so out of place when they get told that they don’t look straight into the camera, but looking at their loved ones. The kids are having a great time doing what to know best; running, exploring and having fun. And mums are HAPPY! And at the end of the session, everybody is relaxed and has heaps of fun during their photography session.

I captured T and her family in the beautiful forest of the Dandenongs. Little Miss S did really well for her family session. She loves to pose, smile and to have fun at the same time. Remembering her as TWO before her third birthday.

Newborn and Family Photography

NEWBORN AND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

Newborn and family photography for these guys with the arrival of their second baby.

These sessions can be organised once baby is born and you are settled at home with your new family.

I will give you the next availabilities once you get in touch with me.

During the session, I take a variety of images between all the family members. Depending on how sleepy baby is on arrival, I will take photos of him/her first to get these sleepy curly images.

I also take photos of baby with mum, with dad and also with siblings. Siblings don’t always want to participate in the shoot, especially toddlers. They rule the photoshoot and I play by their rules. I will try my best to have sweet baby shots however if siblings don’t want to pose next to their new baby, it may not be the perfect portrait shot of them. But I will get the perfect moment of love and connection in other ways. I get toddlers involved in different ways, like dancing or singing their favourite song to their little baby.

After your baby and family portraits, you will receive your gallery within 2 weeks. And you will have beautiful images of your just born bundle of joy but also your new family that you have made.
