DOCUMENTING YOUR PRECIOUS MOMENTS WHEN YOU ARE CAMERA SHY

Documenting your precious moments is still important but you are camera shy?

I often get: “We are really awkward in front of the camera” , “I don’t know how to pose”. Or ” We don’t know what to do”.
And I get it, being on the other side of the camera can be really daunting, especially in front of a photographer you just met.

It can also feel really awkward and vulnerable, especially when your body is changing while growing a baby inside you.
However take a leaf of faith creating special moments because these are very special time.

Creating that safe place starts from the the initial contact with me to book your photography session.
The process run smoothly before the session, and also provide communication and guidance to help with “what to wear” during your session.
B is also wearing couple dresses from my collections mothers can use during their session. You can find the collection here.

Arriving on location, I love to chat with my clients. I can get to know you better on our little walk until we arrive at destination.
I provide a lot of prompts and guidance with the posing, what to do to get the most natural authentic love and connection in your images.
My clients may feel awkward but giving them guidance provide confidence and make the session really fun and relaxed.

There are certain poses that work best: the ones you are not looking into the camera but to interact with one another. That’s when my prompts come in.
I will have one or two images where I will get everyone look into camera, because Nana likes these shots.
But for the rest of the session, I will give you guidance and prompts to have magical images lie the one of B & B expecting their first child.

WHAT TO WEAR AND DRESSES AVAILABLE FOR YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION

What to wear and tips and advice and dresses available for your photography session can be find here.

What to wear:

– Comfortable clothing, garments that are YOU.

– Choose earthy, pastel or mid tone shade colours that complement each other like beige, rust, cream and white. Stick to 1 colour and have different matching shades.

– All white is also beautiful as long as you are mixing different textures and layers like chunky knits, beautiful linen or rayon light and flowy fabrics.

– Avoid all in the same colour t-shirts and jeans or outfits.

– In studio, it will be very warm so a short sleeve tees are best for dads.

Dresses available for my mums:

– These dresses and outfit below are for all my mums; expecting, just had a baby or for just for a family session.

-Dresses can be selected from below and will be brought to the session.

– If you are wanting to come into the studio for a dressing fitting in studio, a $30 sitting fee applies per 30min.

– Up to 2 dresses per shoot only.

– e return at the end of the shoot.

From Digitals Images To Prints

FROM DIGITAL IMAGES TO PRINTS

From digital images to prints, what to expect?

In this day and age, having digital images is very important for most people to have when taking their pictures.

I know it was for me especially when I got married and when I get family photos done from professional photographers. And I still am.

However, what to do with your digital images once you get them on a USB? Print them of course however how does it all work?

Printing photos to a specific size is not always what you think. There is this thing call aspect ratio and here is how it affects your images.

What is aspect ratio? It is simply the measurement of a photograph, width:height. It also helps with the composition of your image.

There are 2 common ratios; one for full frame DSR and one for crop sensor camera. But in this post, I will focus on the full frame DSLR’s as this is the gear I use to take photos.

The aspect ratio to full frame digital DSLR is 3:2. This means that the width is 1.5 times longer than the height.

3:2 is the ratio of landscape prints

and 2:3 is the ratio for portrait prints.

This aspect ratio will produce prints at 6×4, 7×5.5, 9×6, 12×8, 15×10, 18×12, 30×20, 45×30.

These sizes will fit the image as you see as digital images to print.

Prints like 7×5 has a different ratio; 7:5 which means the width is 1.4 times as long as the height. So that size print will have a different perspective and will have a crop.

While other classic size such as 10×8 has a different ratio again; 5:4. So when you print this size, you will most of the time be cropping two inches off your photo as the DSLR’s ratio is 3:2.

See below how print size will affect the digital image.

When printing your photos, some labs have an ordering system that has a preview for you to position your image for the crop you desire.

Here is a chart that will help with your prints.

6×4 and 7 x5 are standard size prints. However, my preference to give gift prints to my clients is the 7×5’s even if there is a different ratio to the camera’s at 3:2.

I will crop all gift prints to my artistic standard as there will be some information missing.

But the main focus will be in the prints.

If 7×5 doesn’t suit? I will be happy to delivery 6×4 prints if you prefer not to have the crop. It is not a downgrade if you are not willing to loose the information from the crop.
